Continuing Education
Suburban Health Organization (SHO) is accredited by the Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA), a recognized provider through the ACCME® to accredit organizations in Indiana to offer continuing medical education (CME) programs. SHO also is an approved provider of continuing nurse education (CNE) through the Louisiana State Nurses Association (an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation), and an approved provider of behavioral health continuing education (CE) through the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board, and an approver of health facility administrators through the Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators. As an accredited/approved CE provider, SHO’s CE team is responsible for the development and oversight of CE activities to ensure the applicable accreditation board requirements are met. SHO’s CE program is designed to serve the professional and educational needs of physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, health facility administrators and allied healthcare professionals to promote life-long learning and practice improvement opportunities, and to be responsive to the health care environment. Our team develops CE activities that offer opportunities to improve the quality of patient care and health systems. Collaboration with non-commercial organizations (ACCME-defined Ineligible Companies) is welcome. SHO directly provides CEs for activities developed in collaboration with CEOs, CMOs, CNOs, CME Coordinators/Committees, Cancer Registries, Quality Managers, Risk Managers, and others at the following hospitals and their nursing homes.
