Goshen Hospital broke ground on a new four-story patient tower in November 2019. The project, completed this recent spring, offers numerous benefits including private patient rooms and state-of-the-art infection control capabilities, minimizing exposure to infection and enhancing safety for patients as well as caregivers. Enhancements were made to the project along the way, as the COVID-19 pandemic helped inform new approaches to meet the community’s needs over the past two years.
The spacious rooms allow for significant diagnostic and monitoring equipment to be brought to the bedside, enabling multiple disciplines of Colleagues to interact with the patient and providing additional comfort and privacy for patients, their families and visitors.
The new building has sophisticated electronic communication technology facilitating immediate feedback and information. An integrated medical alert and monitoring technology automatically populates critical information into the medical record and actively monitors patient safety, freeing caregivers to focus more on patient care. All of these advances work together to provide a state-of-the-art healing environment for patients.
